Pure lavish events truly has the honor to be apart of carley and travis’ wedding day this october. When friends become clients you can’t help but feel overjoyed to be with them every step of the way. How carley puts up with travis, i’ll never know! (insert winking emoji here!). But in all seriousness, they are a match made in heaven. Travis knows how to push carley’s buttons but yet make her laugh until she’s blue in the face. Carley knows how to keep travis on his toes (if he’s not riding his dirt bike) and can be one of the boys even though her style is just as on point as vogue! Their authentic love is one that is undeniable and i can’t wait to see them say “i do”! Enjoy!

Why did you feel you needed a wedding planner?

I wanted a wedding planner in general because i’ve heard planning can be a bit overwhelming and i wanted to be able to enjoy the planning process and just be able to have fun with it! I know google is a great resource, but pure lavish has already weeded through the thousands of local vendors and know the best so that alone takes away a lot of pressure. As far as pure lavish in particular, i knew it had to be pure lavish because not only do both trav and i know carrie, but i trust and i’ve seen what the team can do! Can’t wait to see our special day come to life!!

How did you meet?

We met early in 2006 when travis started working at the italian restaurant in chino i had been working at, pizzaioli. Travis says he still remembers me being the first face he saw on his first day at work. I actually tried talking some of the other hostesses at work into dating him, but obviously that was just not meant to be! After we officially started dating in august of that year, the rest is history!

How did travis propose?

It was the night of our 8-year anniversary… took him long enough right?! We had made a reservation to eat dinner at ruth chris in irvine. When travis picked me up he told me to grab a pair of sandals just in case we decided to walk around the area after dinner. Off we went to dinner, me not suspecting a thing but a nice evening with my favorite person and my favorite meal, a steak dinner. Once we got to the restaurant and were seated at the table travis was really pale and sweating. He said he wasn’t feeling to good so i just assumed he was getting sick. I can be a bit oblivious sometimes. Anyway, he didn’t eat or drink much so after i enjoyed the wine rick and karen had given us to bring along, most of our steak and sweet potatoes (you must try if you haven’t), and a delicious chocolate dessert we were ready to head home. Sidenote – good thing travis was “sick” and didn’t enjoy any wine with me, we got stuck in a checkpoint getting back on to the freeway. I don’t remember what travis said to the “occifer” about drinking a bottle… oops i mean glass of wine, but it was something along those lines and made me laugh. The nerves were definitely kicking in at this point (did he really think i’d say no!?) back to the drive home… we were just chatting away when i noticed travis had missed my exit from the freeway to take me home. I brought it up and he said we were going on a walk. I said, a walk!? Are you crazy it’s almost 10pm and pitch black out! He persisted so i agreed. He even had flashlights in the back seat, i don’t know how i missed that! He ended up taking me to a little hiking trail in chino hills that we had been on before. It led to the same overlook where he had asked me to be his girlfriend eight years prior when we were just nineteen years old. Once we got to the top he said a lot of sweet things that ended with “will you be my wife?”. Of course i jumped up and down and said yes! Then i asked if he checked with my parents first ;)… of course he had. Then i needed the flashlight to check out my new bling (actually old – i am lucky enough to wear my oma’s 30th anniversary diamond placed into a setting travis chose). During the proposal a group of three hikers came up so they took a photo for us and that was that. We got back to the car and called our parents since they knew the whole plan and had been waiting all night to hear about it!

Any funny stories?

I asked trav this and we agree, we have too many to name… but i think our proposal night was all pretty funny looking back on it. We honestly have fun doing anything together and usually end up laughing at either something he or i said or some kind of predicament we’ve gotten ourselves into.

What are your colors/design scheme?

I want everything to be really classic and elegant, but of course with a little fun and glamour mixed in since i am not afraid of a little sparkle! Most everything will be neutrals and silver/gold metallic with the exception of my bridesmaids who will be in a dusty purple color. I think it’s going to be fabulous, but obviously i will need pure lavish to bring these pictures in my head to reality!

I am most excited for the whole wedding day honestly. From getting dolled up with my girls, to seeing travis’ face during our first look, saying our vows, and partying all night with all our loved ones. With that kind of combination going on, it’s just going to be the most perfect day! Travis said he’s most excited about saying “i do”, having all of our family and friends together for an awesome party, and the band we chose for the reception. Aside from wedding day though, we are both just excited to start a new chapter of our lives. We’ve been together for quite a while now and can’t wait to officially start forever as mr. And mrs.!
