Sail Into 2015 Beach Wedding Trends

So, I decided to blog about beach wedding trends because my BFF just got engaged and has decided on a beachside wedding! Let me start out by saying, I love Shellie like a sister. She is my Maid of Honor and has been in my life through thick and thin and has never wavered!

She’s also planning my bachlorette next weekend so I figured I should kiss up a bit! TOTALLY kidding, Shell! Honestly, she has been my rock since I was 18 and I can’t wait to start all her wedding shenanigans!! She and Nick are going onto their 6th year anniversary! And yes folks, I introduced them! I couldn’t be more excited for their wedding next year, it will be gorgeous and full of love!!

With that being said, I want to kill her for having a beach wedding because there are SO many adorable ideas out there right now for 2015. I had a few of my own and then started doing research and I feel like my head is going to explode!!

First things first, figure out the style you want.

Nautical: Anchors, Stripes, Sailboats, Seahorses etc.
Tropical: Palm trees, Hibiscus flowers, Sea shells etc.
Seaside/Hamptons: Neutral colors, Lanterns, Driftwood, Coral etc.

I personally love it all! But it totally depends on the look you are going for. I explored the Hamptons style because that’s what I personally love and think that Shellie is going for this classic look as well. It is very relaxed but chic and timeless.

Driftwood is a 2015 trend, we have started seeing it pop up already and love it! I already told y’all that the pantone for 2015 is Radiant Orchid and I think this color would be beautiful in beachside wedding. Neutral colors with a touch of Radiance in the florals would be stunning. The beach has so much texture and natural beauty that you don’t need to do a lot. When someone thinks about the beach they automatically think casual and relaxed so you want to make sure you make it clear which direction you’re taking it. Sidenote: If your guests are walking in sand ensure that they know that. Whether it be through your wedding website or a creative way in your invite. 2015 hair style trend by the beach is loose curls (Remember beach weather! Let your hairdresser know so he/she can style it to STAY!) with either a floral crown or small florals throughout. You can rock a veil as well but flowers are amazing, even if you pull your hair back with a side flower — stunning! Instead of going shoeless, barefoot sandals are another 2015 trend. If you like a bit of glam, you can do this if you’re walking down a sand aisle and then rock your stilettos at the reception or do a complete glam change! End the night with a sparkler exit or releasing of lanterns! Light up the beach sky as you exit as the new Mr. & Mrs.!
