Jaime and Renee are tying the knot in November 2015 and we couldn’t be more excited for them! From the moment I started talking to Renee I have always sensed a warm and excited tone in her voice and you can see it shine through in her responses. I have to say the way they met to the day he proposed not only has humor but really portrays how fun their relationship must be! Enjoy!!

How did you meet?

We met in the summer of 2004, I was 18 and Jamie was 17, at a birthday party for a mutual friend. We actually grew up about 10 minutes from each other, went to different high schools but had a few mutual friends. I walked into this party and he was standing there with his brother a two other friends and someone casually introduced us. A little later in the night I went into one of the rooms to put my jacket away and I heard the door close behind me… turned around and he just wrapped his arms around me and kissed me! I don’t know if it was from the shock or what but I didn’t stop this complete stranger from kissing me! We didn’t really say anything, just walked out of the room, went our separate ways and that was that! That night he got my number from a friend and called me the next day and here we are 10 years later! Funny thing is it happened so fast I didnt even know his name… I just remembered he had the most amazingly long eyelashes so when he called me the next day he was saved into my phone as “curly eyelashes“. That stuck around for quite a few years!

How did Jaime propose?

Back in November I was working an event at the Ritz in Laguna Niguel. I finished up work on Friday night and he decided to come down and meet me and we would stay the night and head home the next morning. I get back to the hotel and he is in the room, we had an amazing ocean front room with a fire pit, ate some dinner and just relaxed. He wanted to go for a walk on the beach, not thinking anything of it, we walked down to the beach. I was having some fun and messing around in the sand and wrote “I love You JP” turned around and he was already kneeling in the sand and said “will you marry me”. I was so shocked and screamed and cried and laughed all at the same time! I honestly had no clue. He said he got a call that day that the ring was ready so he went and picked it up, looked at it and said he couldn’t wait another minute. So it was the most perfect spur of the moment plan ever.

What are you most excited for on your wedding day?

I am most excited about everything! But walking down the aisle, those few short minutes is what I am really looking forward to. What is Jaime most excited for? Jaime is most excited about celebrating with our family and friends. It’s been something we have been looking forward to for years and finally being able to celebrate it with the people we love is going to be so special.

What is the design/color scheme you’re going with?

I think the theme is romantic/vintage but knowing me its going to be a mix of everything! Succulents, lace, candles, lots of lights and soft colors!

Any other fun facts or stories?

We feel really lucky to have such a strong bond, for the past 6 years we have spent a lot of time apart which has strengthened our relationship and we really truly are each others best friend. We have learned and continue to learn so much from each other everyday. Fun Fact – Our first date was a TGIF, for lunch, I don’t remember why but I wasn’t allowed to leave the house that weekend because of something I did, but I told my mom I had to go to Staples for a school project and then met Jaime for lunch!
