Shellie has been one of my best friends for over 10 years now and I couldn’t be more thrilled for she and Nick to be getting married! I am honored to be a bridesmaid and her planner! I have to admit and pop my colla’ here a bit too… I introduced Nick and Shellie! Yep.. matchmaker and now wedding planner!! Shellie is a teacher (an awesome one may I add!) and Nick works for Interscope Records managing some insane artists. Their lives are crazy busy yet in the midst of it all they are madly in love and going onto their 7th year of being together! Enjoy their story… it’s a good one!!
How did Nick propose?
He had a work meeting in New York City and flew me out on my 1st day of summer break. On my first day in the city we left our hotel, and I remember walking past the people at the front desk seeing huge smiles on their faces as we left the hotel that morning. (Apparently he told EVERYONE he was proposing!) We walked around the city and Central Park until we got to the rowboats in the lake at the park. I was so excited to get on a boat, not even guessing for a second that the proposal was going to happen. He rowed like a machine until he got to the spot in the lake that he had “staked out” and had our friend hiding in the bushes to capture the moment. Not until he started shaking from nerves did I realize what was happening. It was a perfect day! And somehow he managed to get on one knee without tipping the boat!
What are you and Nick most excited for on your wedding day?
I’m the most excited about, walking down the aisle and seeing his face. Nick is most excited for, the second the minister pronounces us man and wife. I am so, so, so excited for that moment and to marry Shellie.
What is the design/ambiance/color scheme you are going for?
We are getting married in Malibu on the sand, so I decided on lavender, blush and shades of white. I’d say it’s very chic and romantic with a little glam and hints of the beach.
Are you honeymooning?
Yes! French Polynesia…Bora Bora and Moorea!
Any other fun details you want to share?
Nick and I were hiking in Malibu 4 years ago when we saw a wedding being set-up at our location, The Sunset Restaurant. We fell in love with it then, never imagining that it would be our wedding location years later. We can’t wait to get married on the beach!
